Pool & Spa Service and Repair Technician (Senior / Crew Lead)

Position Overview
Waves Pool Services is seeking an experienced Pool & Spa Service and Repair Technician with strong troubleshooting skills, leadership ability, and excellent organizational habits. This role is ideal for a knowledgeable technician who can independently diagnose and repair swimming pool and hot tub systems while also leading small crews and mentoring junior staff.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong time management, attention to detail, and the ability to organize and prioritize multiple service tasks efficiently throughout the workday.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with pool and hot tub equipment and systems
- Troubleshoot and diagnose pool and spa heater issues, including gas heaters, electric heaters, and related control systems
- Perform repairs and replacements including:
- Pumps, heaters, filters, and control systems
- Plumbing repairs and equipment pad reconfiguration
- Electrical component troubleshooting (equipment-level)
- Automation systems and salt systems
- Perform liner replacements, equipment upgrades, and renovation work
- Lead and supervise 1–2 technicians or helpers on job sites
- Organize daily work schedules and ensure jobs are completed on time and to a high standard
- Demonstrate strong time management and task prioritization while managing multiple service calls
- Maintain a high level of attention to detail to ensure repairs are completed correctly and systems operate safely
- Train and mentor new technicians on proper service procedures and company standards
- Communicate professionally with customers regarding repairs and recommended solutions
- Maintain accurate service records, job notes, and material tracking
- Ensure company safety, cleanliness, and quality standards are followed on all job sites
Required Qualifications
- 5–10 years experience in pool and spa service, repair, or construction
- Strong troubleshooting ability with pool and hot tub systems
- Excellent organizational skills, time management, and attention to detail
- Experience with equipment from manufacturers such as Pentair, Hayward, Jandy, etc.
- Ability to lead and coordinate small crews
- Experience with liner changes, plumbing repairs, and equipment replacement
- Strong mechanical and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with automation systems and modern pool controls
- Electrical troubleshooting experience related to pool equipment
- Experience training or supervising technicians
- Knowledge of local pool and spa codes and best practices
